The best Versant,
for the right time

From our beginnings to present-day expertise

We offer a collection of 8 great wine varieties produced thanks to the very best of the Languedoc terroirs.

We have selected our best plots located on the hillsides. For the perfect expression of their unique characteristics, the whites and rosés are grown on the northern slopes while the reds are grown on the southern slopes.

This is where the name “Le Versant” (the slope) comes from.

Once harvested, each variety is vinified and aged according to a programme adapted to enhance the typicality. The purest varietal expression of each of these Languedoc varieties is then brought to life.

Each wine provides a particular experience, corresponding to a special moment in life or occasion and pairs particularly well with various food genres.

A promise, a style

The Le Versant range comprises 8 great wine varieties: Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Viognier, Grenache noir, Pinot noir, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon. It offers the purest varietal expression of each of these Languedoc varieties.

Select vines located on the hillsides offering the best exposure to the sun, and adapt the vinification and maturing process to each grape variety.

Balance and elegance allowing many delicious food & wine pairings.

A versatile range for all wine lovers and any moment of drinking pleasure.

A mark of quality and high standards, our range is labelled Vins de Pays d’Oc, the quality benchmark for French grape varieties.

The Versant influence

Whites and rosés come from the north-exposed hillsides. Protected from the heat of the Mediterranean sun and influenced by tramontane winds, this northern exposure helps to boost grape ripeness whilst retaining their freshness.

Red wines, on the other hand, are generally from the south-exposed hillsides which offer maximum exposure to the sun. This ensures fully ripe grapes (sugar, tannins, colour, aromas) and generous wines with remarkable balance.

A meticulous approach in the vineyard and in the cellar

« It all begins in the vineyard, where the soil and microclimate home to the grapes determine the style of wine. If you find the most appropriate terroir for growing a particular variety, you are close to the promise of a truly great wine… »

Our team of winegrowers, guided by Argentinian agronomist Gabriel Ruetsch, seek the perfect match between the grape variety and its “terroir” in order to obtain the elegance and harmony which define Le Versant style.

Only the plots with the best balance of soil, vine and micro-climate have been selected for Le Versant.

« It is amazing how climatic influences can be so different just 50 km apart. By blending grapes from the warm vineyards of Ensérune with those from the more oceanic area of Puichéric, we achieve remarkable balance and elegance ».

The winemaking and ageing programme is adapted to the various cuvées in order to enhance each variety while still preserving its typicality.

We bring to life the purest varietal expression of each of these Languedoc varieties thanks to our wealth of expertise.
